President: Gerald Hill, Sr. Vice President for Advocacy and Communications - Seton Healthcare Network, Member since: 2001
Gerald Hill was once a State Representative, has worked at Texas State
University, and is now Senior Vice President of Seton Healthcare
Network. Gerald is Vice Chair of the Leadership Committee and serves on
the Nominating and Healthcare Committees.
President-Elect: Mike Swayze, Managing Partner - Pena Swayze and Company, LLP, Member since: 2000
Mike Swayze is managing partner of Pena Swayze and
Company, a public accounting firm in Round Rock. Mike was Chair of the
Nominating Committee and also serves on the Higher Education Committee.
He
will be President of AARO beginning January 2008.
Past President:Denise Trauth, President - Texas State University-San Marcos, Member since: 2003
Denise
M. Trauth began her tenure as President of Texas State
University-San Marcos in August, 2002. She came to San Marcos after nine years at
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she had served as
Provost since April, 1997. In Charlotte, Denise was very active in the
community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Chamber
of Commerce, the Arts and Science Council, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg
Education Foundation, and Big Brothers-Big Sisters. Dr. Trauth is also
a member of the AARO Higher Education and Lifelong Learning
Committee.
Treasurer: Sandy Dochen, Corporate Community Relations Manager - IBM, Member since: 2005
Sandy Dochen is the Corporate Community Relations Manager for IBM in the Central Texas region. Sandy serves
on the Education and Higher Education Committees.

Executive Director: Barbara Johnson, bjohnson@aaroregion.com
Barbara
Johnson was named Executive Director of AARO in January 1993. Prior to
her current appointment, Barbara held executive positions in the field
of health care management. She served as Project Manager -
Multi-Institutional Systems Development for the Massachusetts Hospital
Association (1980 - 1984), Manager of the Neurology Division of the
Brigham and Women's Hospital, a 720 bed teaching hospital affiliated
with Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-Longwood-VA Neurology
Training Program (1984 - 1986); and Business Manager of the
Maine-Dartmouth Family Practice Residency Training Program affiliated
with the medical school at Dartmouth College and 3 community hospitals
(1986 - 1988). Ms. Johnson was Chair of the Administrative Team of the
Austin/Travis County Community Action Network and is a member of the
Executive Committee of the Central Texas Indicators Project. In 2001,
she served as a member of the Travis County Bonds Citizens Advisory
Committee. Ms. Johnson is the past Senior Warden and member of the Vestry of
St. Michael's Episcopal Church.
